Cataloguers Hub

Who We Are ?

Cataloguing is a key element in offering quality services in libraries. It is also a core concern of the librarians. Cataloguers’ hub is a dedicated platform on cataloguing to provide service, and enhance co-operative activities on cataloguing. The primary service that the platform offers is the quality checking of catalogues. Quality of cataloguing influences the retrieval efficiency of the documents available in a library, decision-making, time and cost-effectiveness of different works, etc. Researchers suggest local-level quality assessment of catalogues.

In this platform anyone from across the globe can register themselves and check the quality of their library catalogues (that adhere to MARC21 standard). Tag utilization report, data duplication reports, different errors with their impacts are traced and suggestion and remarks are offered to the cataloguers in this platform to improve their practices. The registered members can also contribute to our collection. Their contributions are either accepted or rejected after proper checking by experts.

Users can also download the catalogue of their required documents by following prescribed procedures by the platform.
